At present, ABM is still underused in Systems Biology. There are many reasons for this, but one of them is the semantic gap between biological and computational models. This is something we would like to address.

We also plan to use ABM for modelling and simulating tissues in Cancer. As well as genetic factors, the way cancers progress is highly dependent on their surrounding tissue environment. This environment is highly complex and consists of many different types tissue fibres and biomolecules.
